Wow! Big learning curve is happening. Keep going!! You've started the learning curve, the learning curve has just gotten off the ground and started to fly! You found a solution for crossing your roads and trains. Excellent!! This can be difficult! That's part of what this game is about - finding solutions for these types of problems. Train bridges work too, but trains need a much more gentle slope than roads. That's why you had difficulty. This is a VERY "fussy" game! Roads WILL actually go through train tracks too, just like rail-road crossings. They just need a more perpendicular angle rather than sharp angles at the join, and you need a minimum height between the rail and the road. Near the customs house where you had to delete your road, you should just be able to draw the road back in now, making a level rail-road crossing. The game needs space for trains and height really matters. And the reason main reason it wouldn't build is you had a left-over walking path from a demolished building in the way. It didn't let you build it before because of these things. Get rid of that path and just put the road back in like it was before now. These things are really confusing for beginners, but experience makes it easer in time as you work out what the game will and won't do intuitively. You'll need an "Open Hull" truck for selling your boards. In the vehicle buy window there's a button called "show" - that's the vehicle category list which will help you look for different types of vehicles much more easily. That button could have been labelled more intuitively to be honest.

With the magnification glass you can look at routes and edit them. As long as your farmhouses have a tractor, a covered truck and a harvester, they produce corn from the fields around and transport them to the farmhouse. And if you have a depot connected to it, the corn can be transporter from the farm or the depot to your destination. It's like a extended storage but loads way quicker.

Honestly, poor all of the communist leaders in Dave's republic, as "efficiency" isn't really a thing Dave does. Ever. However, I heard "submersible train" and went OOH!!! That'd be so cool. I'm clearly easily distracted. Been on the Dave Train too long, now.

Haha! Yay for footpaths! Just like cars need roads, people need footpaths - they only walk 400 meters of footpath before they refuse to walk. If you open the window to any building and find amongst the little pictures at the top the little walking icon, the game will show you exactly where people will walk from to go to your building - and extremely useful tool. Glad you found the bus "+" sign. You can add additional buses to that same route with that "+" sign too, if you find that there are too many people waiting for your one bus to cope with. And yep, you actually found the perfect way to connect your factories - putting storage between them is a really good idea because factories work at different paces depending on each individual building's maximum output and how many people are working there and a few other slightly more difficult stuff you haven't encountered like access to water and sewage services. Given time, you could become "broadly competent", just like in Rimworld!! 🤣🤣🤣 I'm lucky - I discovered this absolute gem of a game years ago just after it first came out, before a lot of more complex stuff was added, so I could grow slowly with the massive amount of content added to this game over the years. It was complex then, but now it's literally tripled in size. I really feel for new players. The perspective from a new beginner for this game now must be total confusion for some time while they slowly discover and understand the mechanics over time. The learning curve on this game is actually CONSIDERABLY steeper than Dwarf Fortress. Seriously! Either way, these videos are a lot of fun to watch!! 🤣🤣🤣
